Land Severance & InFill Development & Landlord Tenant Board Update
Land Severance & InFill Development
With the continued challenges faced with urban expansion considering severing lots and infill building offers several benefits and potentially a faster investment option.
Land severance and infill development are vital for housing by optimizing urban space, increasing housing supply, and revitalizing neighbourhoods. This promises to be a growing approach to portfolio building for real estate investors.
Dan Illes has been investing, land severing and flipping and working with real estate investors on infill projects for several years. He will share some of the lessons learned and provide you with the knowledge and resources necessary to navigate the intricacies of land division and infill projects.
Landlord Tenant Board Update
Working with the Ontario Landlord and Tenant Board during the pandemic became a long, drawn-out process of frustration and, for many landlords, a catalyst for stepping away from long-term rental investing.
With commitments of $19 million in April, an additional $1.4 million in November last year, and access to the new digital case management system, the Ontario Government expected to see the Board improve scheduling and the client experience, issue decisions and orders faster, and catch up with its almost 12-month backlog.
Fast forward almost a year, is that the case? What has happened? Is there light at the end of the tunnel for landlords?
Paralegal and LTB Expert Andrew Choubetta will share the latest updates to the LTB process and give real estate investors insights into recent changes to procedures and decisions made.
